Quote #70 – Rita Rudner

“I love to shop after a bad relationship. I don’t know. I buy a new outfit and it makes me feel better. It just does. Sometimes I see a really great outfit, I’ll break up with someone on purpose.”

–Rita Rudner

NOTE: I guess this isn’t really very romantic, but it deals with relationships, and it struck me as funny, so here it is, for what it’s worth.

  1. It IS funny! Thanks for that. Love your header picture, too.

    • Thanks, SC. Younger folks might not be familiar with Rudner, but she was a really funny stand-up act, with a seriously deadpan delivery. I thought she was hilarious, and I am ashamed to admit, I don’t even know what she’s up to today. I’ll have to check that out, because I found a whole bunch of quotes from her that I’ll be sharing in the future, and it would be nice to have more info on her.

As for the header, you have probably noticed I have a hard time leaving one up for very long. I get bored easily, I guess! I’ve been trying to use book covers, but it is often hard to find them with a high enough resolution to keep them from pixelating. I guess I’m going to have to stop being so lazy and scan my own. In the meantime, found a bunch of cat images I liked last night, and this one seemed especially suitable. So glad you like it. If it disappears in a day or two, don’t worry. It will be back as I circulate through my images files.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Kathy. It’s always nice to know you have been visiting. Oh, and I almost forgot…I have a couple of book suggestions for you, if you are interested. Something with a wee bit of “magic” in it that I think you would like, but yet not be too far out of your normal reading genres. Look for a special post soon!

  2. These are cute. You can tell I haven’t broken up recently. No new clothes!!! 🙂 ML 🙂

  3. Me, either. I’ve been wearing the same faded blue jeans and stained t-shirts for years now. I don’t know what to do without that break-up thing as an excuse to go shopping!

Thanks for stopping by, Marsha. It’s great to see you here, and I appreciate your taking the time to comment, too.
