Bookin' It

So Many Books. So Little Time. Let's Review!

What Are You Reading?

tkread1

(My 8-year-old granddaughter, Tabitha, reading to
her cousin, my 8-month-old grandson, Kaelen.)

Just realized it’s Friday again! Where did this week go? Oh, yeah. It was Christmas! That explains it!  Don’t know if any of you have time for reading right now, but I thought I would ask. I was in the first 1/3 of Changeless from the Parasol Protectorate series when I realized it was Book TWO! Now I’m starting over on Soulless, the first one. A very amusing, steampunk/urban fantasy kind of series. Will review it when I’m done.

So what are YOU reading this week? Or are you “resting your eyes” until after the holidays?

  1. I’m reading Kiss Me, I’m Irish, which I found free on Amazon yesterday. Seems to be one of the good freebies so far — light but fun.

I am reading The Bond by a friend Paula McCoy Williams. I just started it but am already liking the characters.

    • Wait a minute!!! Hold the presses!!! You said you were going to read Wake-Robin Ridge next! *Harrruuuumph* You are just trying to see if I’m paying attention, aren’t you? You aren’t really going to read it at all. *sniff* 😦

Okay, I get it. You have more than one author friend. I’ll just have to learn to wait my turn. (Good thing I see you over on Swamp Ghosts now and then, or I’d feel totally left out.)

Enjoy The Bond. Let me know how it is.

ha ha you are funny – I have been out of sorts but am back on track…will answer your email. I have not been doing much this past week or so just enjoying some down time and getting re-energized!

        • Sometimes that’s the most important thing you can do, Patty. I re-energize best in my garden, with a book, or out on the river. (Mountains would be even better for my soul, but those are in short supply in Florida, sadly. 🙂 )Hope you are feeling better again.

  3. Hope you had a joyful Christmas, Marcia!

I’m reading “The Bartender’s Tale” from Ivan Doig and listening to the audiobook of “The Woman in White” by Wilkie Collins.

    • I did, Steve, thanks largely to the two little kids you see at the top of this post. Hope yours was joyful, as well. It’s been a long time since I read the Woman in White, I think. *scratching head, and digging through my dusty memory banks* And I’ve heard good things about The Bartender’s Tale. I’m adding it to my list.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a happy and prosperous New Year!

      • I’ve been meaning to “get to” The Woman In White for years. Audible had it on deep discount this week and I figured why not.

Ask me in 25 hours of listening whether I liked it. Yow!

        • I had forgotten how long it was…685 pages! Whoa! But I saw that it was free on Kindle, so I grabbed it for my Classics folder. It will be interesting to re-read it, lo these many years later! 🙂
