What Are You Reading Today?
It’s that time again…time to tell the world what you are reading. I’ll go first, shall I? 🙂
I just finished Book 2 of The Raven Cycle, The Dream Thieves, by Maggie Stiefvater, and will soon be doing a review on that. Assuming I can find the words to describe how powerful her writing is. She astounds me. I’m on the opening page, literally, of the final Rachel Morgan/The Hollows book, Kim Harrison’s The Witch With No Name. Been holding off on it for a couple of weeks, because I really hate to see the series end. I also have reviews coming up for Magic Breaks (Ilona Andrews), and The Winter Long (Seanan McGuire. Not to give away too much, but all of these rated 5 stars with me, so I can’t wait to get the reviews up for you.

Have to finish listening to “Eternal Hunt” (ugh. Misogyny anyone?) but I have Quarantine on the Black Nile by Michael Angel to listen to as well, so poison before chocolate, right? lol
Not reading a lot right now, I am editing! Woo hoo! Work! Job! Money for dog food! 😉

Sorry, life’s too short to read poison. I want to go straight to chocolate! 😀 I’m very aware of that clock tick-tocking away, and I’ve got SO much I want to do, yet. And READ, yet. I’m not familiar with Eternal Hunt, though, so maybe it wouldn’t feel quite so onerous to me. I’m marking both of these down, thanks!! 🙂

I’m reading “Van Gogh: The Life” by Steven Naifeh and Gregory White Smith. Good stuff. Oh, and I will email you this weekend. I got home Wednesday night, and woke up yesterday with the ‘flu!

Oh, I’m really sorry you have the flu. That stinks like three day-old garbage. (Eeeew.) Hope you feel better soon, and I’ll be here when you have time to email me. As for your reading this week, you are my favorite literati! I always know your reading list is going to be full of books that I should be reading more of, and yet you never make me feel bad about my guilty pleasures. Mmmmwaaaah! 🙂

I’m actually reading several books now (especially being sick), but I had just put down the Vincent van Gogh volume before leaving my comment.
I would never judge someone for their reading material (well, within reason). As long as people read (reasonably well-written books), that’s the only thing that matters. 🙂

I can tell you aren’t judgmental, maedez, and I think that’s exactly the way to be. (It’s something I work on all the time, about so many things. I catch myself making snap judgments, and have to remind myself what a bad habit that is.) So glad your hubby is taking good care of you! Feel better soon!

I’m most of my way through The Immortal Crown by Richelle Mead. It’s an interesting world–set in a kingdom that allows religion, but only up to a certain point–and the gods who get their worshipers taken away are pretty annoyed by it.
And then I’m starting Blood Games!

You know, I absolutely loved Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy, but so far, I haven’t liked anything else, even the series spin-off. Of course, that’s because I hated the character so much, I couldn’t get into it at all. I tried the succubus series, and it just left me feeling “Meh,” so I’ve not pursued any more of her books. I’ll be waiting to hear your final review on it. I’m always willing to give an author another chances, as long as the writing’s not terrible. The next group of characters, or world, might be something I love.
OH, I can’t WAIT to hear what you think of Blood Games. Good Golly, Olly, I liked that book! Wait, though…wasn’t Skin Game supposed to be next??? 🙂

Aaaaah…the Public Shaming begins!!! I’m old, bordering on senility. I must have thought you were some other Caitlin, and not my friend and editor, lo these many, many months. 😯 It’s all starting to run together in my mind. Go read Blood Games, and we’ll talk about THAT, while I get over feeling stupid. 😀 😀 😀

I am reading a non fiction book “Killing Jesus” by Bill O’Reily – if you like history this is actually very good. I learned a lot about Cleopatra and Ides of March – which happened way before Jesus but it set the tone to understand the current the Caesar of Jesus’ time.
