Okay, I ask you…how lucky am I to have a Graphic Design Goddess as my very, very good friend and cohort? No matter what I ask for, she can do it! I’m so tickled with this layout of the cover for my print version of Swamp Ghosts, I can’t tell you! Okay, I CAN tell you. And I am. I’m ecstatic! I’m finishing up the final formatting details on the book today, and then I’ll be uploading to CreateSpace. If all goes well, I could be ordering my proofs in a day or so. Once I approve those, the book will go live on amazon in no time at all. So all you good folks out there who prefer not to read eBooks will have access to it. And for those of you who do just fine with eBooks…well, why wait? Here you go: Swamp Ghosts

  1. Nice! I especially like the gator eyes peering out of the spine.

    • Thanks, Caitlin. I’m really pleased with it. It’s all dark and shivery and dramatic. Just what I wanted. Glad you like it, too. Thanks for stopping by, as well. Good to see you, as always.

    • Isn’t Nicki a genius? I love that, too, as though the great, huge cypress has stretched out and curved right around to the back. *happy sigh* I had not thought about the back cover a lot, but Nicki knew just what it needed. (The white rectangle is where the bar code goes, btw. That has to be left blank. 🙂 ) Thanks for commenting, Mishka. Lovely to see you here this morning!

Marcia, may I pinch you and wake you up from your dream.
I am so happy that is happening to you. Please give Nicki a hug for me. She really has done very well. She is very talented. Give yourself a hug for me.

    • If I’m all caught up hugging Nicki and myself, I won’t have any arms left to give YOU a hug, too, my friend. And you deserve one, as well, for being such a loyal Beta reader and gardening buddy. Nicki is making one final change in this cover for me. We left out the “attribution line” for the quote at the top of the back page. That’s a direct quote from Anna Celeste Burke’s review of Swamp Ghosts, and it should say that. It will, now, before I upload it to CreateSpace. And then I think it will be PERFECT!! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Felix! Always good to see you on my blogs.

    • Thank you. It’s dark and dramatic, for sure, and it’s just what I wanted for this one. Mere “pretty” wouldn’t do, in this case. Appreciate your stopping by and taking time to comment, too. Always good to see you here.

Does your graphic person do this as a job or is she talented and did for you as a friend? Can you email me about that? Thanks!

    • Both, Patty! She is a graphic designer by profession, and my best friend, by coincidence. We share a passionate love of gardening! Nicki was the person who insisted I should start a bog, and then insisted I could write a book. She’s an ardent supporter of everything I do, and one of my Beta readers, when she can find time to catch up.

She did my first cover in return for my help on some projects at her house (which I would gladly have given, anyway). But now, I’m a real client. 😀 I can’t take advantage of our friendship forever. She’s very talented and very reasonable, and I’ll be happy to help you two connect.

Thanks I would appreciate that. I love her covers for your books. I have an idea for the cover for my book but I can’t get it to materialize. I have started writing again, and started from scratch creating profiles for my characters. As I write them, I feel them coming to life. I think that was my problem. How is Swamp Ghost doing?
