Poem of the Day by Dorothy Parker
Unfortunate Coincidence
* Dorothy Parker *
By the time you swear you’re his,
Shivering and sighing,
And he vows his passion is
Infinite, undying,
Lady, make note of this–
One of you is lying.
*
NOTE: Another bit of wry humor from Dorothy Parker, and in keeping with my affairs of the heart theme for this month.
It is called Unfortunate Coincidence.

Oh, thank you so much, maedez. I found it in a list of quotes, and none were titled, but since it was so much more than just a “remark,” I felt sure the title was out there somewhere. I hadn’t had a chance to google around for it yet, so I appreciate the information. Changing the post right now!
