Wake-Robin Ridge Has Gone Live!

Wake-Robin Ridge Has Gone Live!

Wooohooooo! Last night, my first novel, Wake-Robin Ridge, went live on I’m beyond excited! I knew at age five I wanted to be a writer, but got sidetracked somewhere along the way for a little while. Okay, for 64 years. But I am here to tell you, it’s never too late to follow your dream. I decided last October I was going to write a book, start to finish, and publish it on amazon. And this time, I didn’t let anything get in my way. I wrote. And wrote. And wrote. Thank God I had a good editor. She cut. And cut. And cut. And now, a tighter, cleaner version of Wake-Robin Ridge is ready to go.

The book was a labor of love set in my favorite part of the country, the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, and I enjoyed every single moment spent telling this tale. If you like romantic suspense with a slightly spooky twist, it might be just your thing. I hope you’ll give it a try. If you enjoy it, please feel free to leave a review on amazon. (If you don’t enjoy it…don’t tell anyone, ever! Ha!)

Seriously, I do hope some of you will be touched by the story. It’s definitely not the high-action Urban Fantasy I like to read these days, but it is exactly what I wanted to write–a tale of love and redemption that just might offer a surprise or two.

  1. This is just so exciting. And I am thoroughly impressed that you were able to get it up onto Amazon yourself. I think I know who I can hire when it’s my turn…….
Your author page looks great, too!

    • Thanks, SC! You can’t imagine the jumping around and dancing and hollering I’m doing today! (And don’t think it isn’t quite a sight!)

It really isn’t that it’s so hard to get it formatted properly. It’s that there is a ton of misinformation out there on the best way to do it. My guess is that the platform is evolving practically daily, and books on the subject are outdated fairly quickly. But I found a way to make it work, I think. There are some layout quirks in 2 of the older platforms, but they don’t get in the way of the story, and if I can ever figure out how to fix them, I will. But it seems to show up well on Kindle Paperwhite, all three Kindle Fires, Kindle for PC, iPad & iPhone, so I’m calling it a “qualified” success at this point.

And don’t worry. I have taken very good notes. I will share them with you when it’s your turn. You can do it, too, I’m sure.

Now to get my poetry book done and up! No rest for the wicked.

  2. Oh, hooray! And the book looks like one I would really enjoy–I love the setting.

    • Hi, Alice! Nice to see you! I had such a good time writing this story. It had been in my mind for years, and the cabin was as real to me as my own house is. Not to mention the characters followed me everywhere I went for the last ten months. I practically had to set extra places at the table for them at dinner! I hope you’ll check out the book, and if you do, I hope you really enjoy it. I love those mountains with a passion, and always knew I was going write about them someday. (There will be more books set in the fictional little town of Darcy’s Corner, too.) Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I have it on my amazon wish list…tomorrow is pay day!
