So Many Books. So Little Time. Let's Review!

The World Will Miss You, Sir Terry Pratchett!

I’ve just learned of the passing of author Sir Terry Pratchett, and the world seems a sadder place to me today. His imagination made everything better and funnier, and I wish I had discovered his books years earlier. Tonight, the wee, free men and I will drink a toast in his honor, and we will never, ever forget him!

  1. Oh No! I didn’t know that…. and another icon of our times passes into history, and a part of my heart with him. May the Wee Free Men dance him into an afterlife of mead and laughter, joy and the company of good friends.

My heart aches at the loss of another great icon of the literary world. His writing has brought me joy in the darkest of times. Goodbye, Terry. The world is a darker place without you.

  3. He will be missed, but his words will continue to reach many.

    • Yes, we have that. But I’m still so sad. I just love his off-the-wall sense of humor and crazy, imaginative characters. And I love this photo of him. He looks like someone I’d like to live next door to. 🙂

He writes on the opposite end of fantasy to that which I enjoy, so I’ve never got on with his books but millions have, and he’s been an amazing author, opening up the world of fantasy to so many.

    • Lucky for me, I get on with both ends of fantasy, and anything that makes me laugh, makes my world brighter. It’s certainly dimmer today, and you are right that he was an amazing author. I was remiss in this post in not referring to him by his correct title, and I think I’ll go back and fix that. He earned it. He deserves it. But mostly, he deserves to be remembered for his amazing contribution. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Have a great day.
