Only Six More Days!
I’m sure I speak for a lot of us when I say I can hardly wait for next Tuesday to arrive! Jim Butcher’s newest Dresden Files book, Skin Game, will be released, and I’m heading straight to my local book seller to pick up my copy. I can’t even wait for it to be sent from Amazon! With the exception of Ghost Story, I’ve never been more eager to get my hands on a new Dresden Files book. Or any other, for that matter. Harry’s world gets bigger, badder, and more complex with every single book, and Harry, himself, has grown so much as a character, it’s hard to believe how it all started out. This one sounds like it is going to be fantastic, and after waiting over a year and a half for it, I really hope it is. And the GOOD NEWS is that someone will win a free download of this next Monday afternoon. Yep. I’ll be giving away a copy of Skin Game to one of my followers. And all you have to do to win, is ASK. Simply email me any time after 3:00pm EST. If you are the first person I hear from, the download is yours!
Mark your calendars! You know you want this one, and FREE…IS…GOOD! π
Man – even your reviews are written so darn well! π

Hey, there, BFF! Gosh, thanks. Have you been reading them? I haven’t written one in a week or so, but I’ve just finished 2 books of a 3-book trilogy by Nora Roberts, and I’m looking forward to reviewing that. (Haven’t read her in years, but someone mentioned her in connection with my last book, so I thought I’d better check her out again.) I do usually review my favorite series, and sometimes I get serious and review books I adore from years ago, as well. Oh, heck. I read and review LOTS of stuff, as evidenced by the Topics column on the right sidebar. But obviously Urban Fantasy is my current favorite genre. What about you? What do you love to read?

LOL – you are really a writer at heart. I am currently in the midst of trying to finish three books written by friends. One is about a 3 year sailing trip around the world and the other two are biographies.
I used to be a voracious reader of just about anything, able to visually swallow a book in a matter of short days. Now, I am only able to read a chapter within the same time period.
I am also almost fully distracted by this new passion called the blogosphere. It’s kind of like my original Facebook addiction, except the statuses are much longer!

I’m waiting for the day when I slow down on my reading, and now my writing, as well. I’m like a thing obsessed. Okay, not LIKE a thing obsessed. I actually AM a thing obsessed. π I started blogging because I wanted to write, and then realized it was fun, but not as much fun as actually telling a story I wanted to tell. (I started writing at 5, composing pages-long poems on a yellow legal tablet, mostly about cowboys and horses and dogs. Hahaha.)
Like you, my reading has slowed down this past year, but mostly because I spend every spare minute writing, instead. Still trying to find a balance. It ain’t easy. But then, what is? π
