It’s that time of year again, and I’m up to my eyeballs in Christmas decorations and boxes of lights. How about at your house?

A very familiar poem to all of us. I have seen many fat ones, flying toward your house.

Don’t be sending me no steenkin’ geese, Felix! Between the turkey vultures, barred owls, sandhill cranes, white ibis and the occasional bald eagle, my yard gets all the BIG bird visitors it needs! Adding geese to the mix would be just one species too many!
😀
Seriously, I’ve only ever seen wild geese (Canada geese) in Florida once or twice. Have you? And if you are talking about graylag or other domestic geese…well, I’m thinkin’ we should just sing this little ditty, instead, and I’ll come visit those near YOUR house!

I see and hear honking geese way up in the sky, migrating.

That’s really neat, Felix. I’ve never seen any fly over my house. Lots of sandhills cranes, though. I love that call! See if you an arrange a flyover of Canada geese when I come over!

I went to the Villages with Jeremy and his family to see the lighting of the tree. Over 4,000 people, just partying up. Sylvia and I looked up and saw several geese in a V. We showed them to Jonas. I thought of you.

Felix! You are going to use up all the geese before I get there! Shame!!

Sounds like a fun time. I bet Jonas was bug eyed at the tree. You are a braver man than I (huh?). I like crowds less and less as I get older. I don’t even go to the one in downtown Orlando any more. Or the fireworks at Lake Eola. I’m going to let you do it for me!

This made me laugh. It reminded me of my childhood street games. We used to sing this while skipping rope and playing balls. 🙂

Did you collect many ha’pennies, though? That is the question!

Glad you enjoyed it, Elizabeth. I like it, too. One of my Christmas CD’s has it worked into a medley, and it always makes me smile.
