Bookin' It

So Many Books. So Little Time. Let's Review!

Hello, World!

My name is Kaelen. (My Granny would never have seen that coming!) Kaelen is Celtic for Mighty Warrior, and after the way I spent the last forty-eight hours, I think my mommy and daddy called it right. It was a long battle, but I made it! And I think my mommy is a warrior, too! She and I struggled for a long, long time, but she got me here just fine. I met my daddy right away, and he looks like a warrior, himself, so I guess it’s a family thing! I weigh 8 pounds and 11 ounces, and I’m 21 inches long. I’m told that means I’m not only mighty but BIG, too. I can’t wait to get to know all about the world, but for now, I’m just going to take a wee nap. Even Mighty Warriors need their rest, you know. ‘Nite.

(PS…I’m a boy, btw…I’ve heard it’s hard to tell at my age, but I’ll soon be flexing my Mighty Warrior muscles and performing prodigious feats of Boy-like strength, and it won’t be so confusing any more.)

She’s beautiful! Mommies and daddies are such warriors.

    • Thank you, Olivia. But she’s a HE. Haha. I know if you aren’t familiar with Celtic names, you might think otherwise. But he’s a darlin’ little boy. I better make that clearer in his note to the world! Thanks for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it.

  3. Nooo…lift your head and be PROUD! You took the time to send your wishes and make a granny feel good! I’M proud of you! And I love the name, Quinn, btw. Thank you very much for stopping by. When they get him all decked out in blue, it will be more obvious. (Plus I added a PS to the post, so no one is left scratching their heads.) Thanks again, Olivia!

Congratulations! He looks to sweet to be a mighty warrior!! 🙂 I do like the name though, good, strong and Gaelic! May God bless him with all of those qualities along with compassion, peaceful and loving.

    • From your lips to God’s ear! I hope he will be as blessed as he’s already made MY life. Thanks, Patty. He does look sort of…Zen…in that picture, doesn’t he? Like an Old Soul. I’ve got my plane tickets booked and I’ll be heading out to meet him next Tuesday. Can’t wait!

  5. Wow. I’m not usually a fan of other peoples’ babies, but that one looks so serene he could be the next incarnation of the Dalai Lama. Congratulations!

    • Hi, 23! Yes, he’s very sort of Zen looking in that photo. I have since seen other photos where he doesn’t look quite so all-knowing. He squirms, yawns, and fusses around like all little ones, and looks a lot more like his dad, who doesn’t resemble the Dalai Lama at all, being more of a true McDougal. But this picture makes me want to bow my head, behave in a reverent manner, and ask for spiritual guidance.

  6. I agree, he is zen looking. He beautiful, just gorgeous! Congratulations! Bring him up here for a visit!!! 🙂
