Bookin' It

So Many Books. So Little Time. Let's Review!

Do You Read WordPress Authors?

I find myself constantly surprised at the number of writers with WordPress blogs, ranging from beginners to very experienced and well-known authors, whose names you would probably recognize immediately.  I have been trying to research those who are just starting out, or have less than six books or so out, either in print or on Kindle.  It’s still a huge number of blogs, but I’m trying to make sure I download or purchase at least one book a week from a self-published WordPress author, just to see what they are writing, and how well they are doing.  This is a really fun experiment, and I’m meeting new people and enjoying authors I might not have found, otherwise.  And it makes me feel like I’m supporting the community overall, as well.

I’m currently reading a fantasy novel by Frankie Robertson (of Frankie’s Soapbox ) called Dangerous Talents, and I’m enjoying it very much, so far.  I’m about halfway through the book, and will be posting a real review as soon as I finish.  I’m sure it’s going to be a positive one, because I’m having a lot of fun reading it.  Frankie has at least three or four other books listed on her blog that I plan to check out, as well, btw.

Do you have favorite WordPress authors who aren’t “household names” at this point in their careers? I’m not saying they need to be “beginner” writers, though those are good, too…just maybe someone with less visibility than a Stephen King or a Stephanie Meyer, for instance. I hope you’ll share your favorites with us, as I’d like to check them out, myself, and I’m sure others would, as well.  It’s a great way to discover even more talented writers

Keep an eye out for my review of Dangerous Talents.

If you decide to place an order with amazon, clicking through from my links will give me credit.  If you are enjoying  my reviews on Bookin’ It, it’s a great way to let me know!  Thanks!

  1. I never thought about it, I may have to check it some of the authors, thanks for the tip.

  2. You can search on WP for writer’s blogs, and you’ll be amazed at how many you find. I can point you to several, if you’d like.
