Anyone Read This Yet?
Now In My To Be Read Basket
Just got this for Christmas, and I’m eager to get to it soon. It’s coming up right after I finish the two I’m reading now. I couldn’t help but notice this blurb from the Chicago Sun-Times on the back cover:
“A rarity among bestselling writers, Koontz continues to pursue new ways of telling stories, never content with repeating himself. He writes of hope and love in the midst of evil in profoundly inspiring and moving ways.”
That last sentence is why I personally prefer Dean Koontz to King. I love the way Koontz writes about honor and love and a sense of redemption–things greater than all of us–no matter the horrors we might be facing. And I especially love the way he writes about women. You can tell very clearly that he knows what it’s like to love a woman with all of one’s heart, and that is something you don’t always see in books today, especially of the fantasy, sci-fi, or horror genres.
I’ll be reviewing this as soon as I finish it. In the meantime, if you’ve read it, let me know what you thought of it. (No spoilers, please!)
