An Award! How Exciting!

As a pretty new blogger, I can’t tell you how excited I was to receive my first blogging award! I was nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Sharechair, already one of my favorite bloggers.  I’ve mentioned Sharechair’s blog before, in talking about the new Paperwhite Kindle, but there’s so much more to learn there.  I hope you’ll stop by and check out her very informative posts, especially if you are sometimes confused by a lot of today’s technology.  (Don’t forget to check out the other blogs Sharechair nominated, as well.  Some good stuff there!)

The rules for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award are:

2. Attach the Award to your site. (Looking for a permanent home for it as soon as I finish posting this.)

3. Share seven random things about yourself.  Here goes:

     (1.)  I have the world’s funniest granddaughter, and another grandbaby on the way.  Both were a long time coming, and will always be much adored!

    ( 2.)  I love hiking, camping, and canoeing, though I haven’t done any of the above in a couple of years.  I hope to rectify that soon.

    ( 3.)  I’m an ardent birdwatcher, and I used to hand raise parrots, once owning 47  pet birds, myself.  (Can we say OCD, boys and girls?)

     (4.) In spite of fact #3, I have always had a houseful of cats.  We are down to just 4 right now, but you never know when that might change.  The dachshunds are louder,   but the cats RULE.

     (5.)   I love to laugh.  A lot.  No, seriously.  (Is that an oxymoron, like “seriously funny?” Or just a contradiction in terms?)  I REALLY love to laugh, especially if it includes making someone else laugh, too.

     (6.)  In an attempt to prove that it is never too late to pursue a dream, I’m writing a book.  Eeep.  (68 IS the new 28, right???)

     (7.)  I love snakes.  This is NOT an attempt to demonstrate fact #5. I could easily have decided to become a herpetologist.  Except for those bits about going to school so long, and studying like crazy, and then trying to figure out exactly how herpetologists make an actual living.
